Devín CastleDevín Castle is a castle in Devín, which is a borough of Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia.
The site has been settled since the Neolithic Age and fortified since the Bronze and Iron Age and later by Celts and Romans. The cliff (elevation 212 meters) is an ideal place for a fort due to its position at the confluence of the Danube and Morava rivers. The fort watches over an important trade route along the Danube as well as one branch of the Amber Road. The castle stands just inside Slovak territory on the frontier between Slovakia and Austria. The border runs from west to east along the Morava River and subsequently the Danube. Prior to 1989, the Iron Curtain between the Eastern Bloc and the West ran just in front of the castle. Although the castle was open to the public, the area surrounding it constituted a restricted military zone, and was heavily fortified with watchtowers and barbed wire. After the Velvet Revolution the area was demilitarised. The most photographed part of the castle is the tiny watchtower, known as the Maiden Tower. Fierce fights for the strategic gap of the Váh and the mountain range Malá Fatra near Strečno in the north-west of Slovakia took place between the German army and the partisans of the Slovak National Uprising (SNP). A memorial was built on the hill Zvonica to commemorate the dead heroes.
The water area is located at the intersection of the cadastres of the villages of Svinná – Trenčianske Jastrabie – Veľká Hradná, on the right side of the 2nd class road between Trenčiansky Jastrabí and Svinná. Fishing is allowed at a distance of more than 30 m from the dam body. Fire can only be set up in the designated locations. The water area is located in the 4th zone where the use of combustion engines is prohibited on vessels used in the exercise of fishing rights.

Driny is a limestone cave in West Slovakia in the Little Carpathians Mountains. It is located around 2 km southwest of the village of Smolenice. The cave’s entrance altitude is 399 m. The first attempt to enter the cave was made by Prussian soldiers, who were camping nearby during the Austro-Prussian War.
The statue of Juraj Janosik stands in Terchova above the village towards Vratna Valley. It was built by locals to their famous native. It is a monumental statue of an over – lifetime size. The statue of Juraj Jánošík is made of stainless steel sheet and measures 7 and a half meters. It’s author is academic sculptor Ján Kulich and statue was built in 1988.
